To be honest most of my time in Iron County has been spent passing through it on Highway US-2 headed to some place else.  If I'm doing any camping in the area I like Bewabic State Park.  A couple years ago,  I discovered the Pentoga Trail and now I always try to make some time to ride it whenever I'm in the area.

Iron River makes for a nice stop over if you're headed across the U.P.  I personally don't like riding after dark because of the deer and its a long stretch of lonesome highway between Iron River and Ironwood.

The Pentoga Trail in my opinion is one of the top ten motorcycling roads in the U.P.  Short, but so sweet of a ride.  Two lanes of nice blacktop takes you through a canopy of Maple trees around turn and over some rolling hills.  You have to look for it to find it, but once you do I'm sure you find it a really enjoyable ride.

Pentoga Trail

Bewabic State Park has a crystal clear lake with a nice little beach making it a good place to grab some beach time and get some relaxation from the road.  If you plan to ride and tour the U.P. I recommend purchasing a annual park sticker for your bike.
