Michigan's Upper Peninsula

"Just Ride 2008" is one week out of the summer selected to invite bikers to come ride Michigan's Upper Peninsula.  Maybe we should have called it Yooper Biker Days since it's not really an official road rally.  At this time, there are no official staged rides planned during the week, but for those riders looking for recommendations on roads or specific locations to ride, we've put together a number of options. 

Yooper Cannonball
The Yooper Cannonball is about bragging rights.  For approximately 360 miles you'll ride from one end of Upper Michigan to the other.  The ride starts with a huge biker breakfast in Ironwood.  From there you'll  cruise through small towns, miles of state forests and along some best beaches you'll find anywhere.  When you reach De Tour Village, you'll load your bike on a car ferry for a short short ride over to Drummond Island.  From there you'll ride until you run out of pavement.  From there its back to the crossroads for good biker burger and some refreshments.  You are now a lifetime member in the Yooper Cannonball Motorcycle Club. 

M-26 to Copper Harbor
Probably one of the most written about motorcycling roads in Upper Michigan.  The ride takes you from Maas City all the way to Copper Harbor.  The road has about everything a rider could want.  M-26 takes you along the Lake Superior lakeshore where you'll find some flowing twists and turns, great views and lot of places to pull over and take it all in. 

In Search of the  Longships
This ride from St. Ignace to Drummond Island and then up to Sault Ste. Marie and over to Whitefish Point not only provides you with many glimpses of the huge ore ships that sail the Great Lakes, but it also takes you past some of best scenery you'll find anywhere in Upper Michigan.
